about

"With its souped-up bassline and rocket fueled drumming, Buddhist Monk flies along like an Exocet heading straight for the mosh pit" - New Music Social

Buddhist Monk is the debut single from KILL, THE ICON! It is a remembrance of Thich Quang Duc, the first of a series of Buddhist monks who burned himself alive in protest against a corrupt dictatorship.

lyrics

Buddhist Monk falls asleep
Vietnam! In 1963!
Buddhist Monk drops a payload
Roman candle burns on that bustling Silk Road

Wanna die a martyr?
Have your face on a $20 bill?

But you won't see my face!
Don't look back at me again!
But you won't see my face!
Don't look back at me!

You think you know best for me
Agent Orange and gasoline
You think you know blasphemy?
Lotus flower, burn my effigy!

Wanna die a martyr?
Have your face on a $20 bill?

But you won't see my face!
Don't look back at me again!
But you won't see my face!
Don't look back at me!

You can't strike fear
Into the heart of a man who has none
You can't strike fear
Into the heart of a man who has none
You can't strike fear
Into the heart of a man who has none

But you won't see my face!
Don't look back at me again!
But you won't see my face!
Don't look back at me again!

But you won't see my face!
Don't look back at me again!
But you won't see my face!
Don't look back at me, don't look back at me!
